MASTRO PRESEPAIO EXPERIENCE.
October 7, 2024We are an "Official Partner" of Teatro San Carlo for the exclusive private tour project, a special way to admire the fabulous Neapolitan opera house. Founded in 1737 by Charles III of Bourbon, Teatro San Carlo is Naples' opera house, the oldest continuously active opera house in Europe and the world, and the first Italian theater to establish a school of dance. It predates La Scala by 41 years and Venice's Teatro La Fenice by 55 years. Originally, it could accommodate 3,285 spectators, later reduced to 1,386. It features a large auditorium (22x28x23 m), five tiers of boxes arranged in a horseshoe shape plus a large royal box, a gallery, and a stage (34x33 m). Due to its size, structure, and history, it served as a model for subsequent European theaters. Teatro San Carlo has been listed by UNESCO among the monuments considered World Heritage Sites.
Naples has many gems, but the brightest and most famous worldwide is certainly Teatro San Carlo, which deserves an unforgettable visit. It is one of the city's most important monuments, nestled in the shadow of Vesuvius, and is a destination for both tourists and locals who can explore the interior of one of Italy's architectural treasures.
Our "private and exclusive" guided tours of Teatro San Carlo will take visitors through the most fascinating areas of the Neapolitan theater, which, with its globally recognized prestige, is undoubtedly one of the best attractions in Naples. Visitors will explore the Historical Hall, the Royal Box, the Historical Foyer, Rossini’s Barcaccia, and Donizetti’s Barcaccia. The tours take place between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with a duration of approximately 45 minutes (in Italian and English, with French and Spanish available upon request). One will truly be left speechless in the face of the magnificence of Teatro San Carlo.
“There is nothing in Europe, I wouldn't even say anything similar, but nothing that can even remotely give an idea of this”
